Gilda’s Club is a place where men, women and children whose lives have been touched by cancer, as well as their families and friends can feel they are part of a welcoming community of support. Since 1998, more than 10,000 individuals and families have visited Gilda’s Clubhouse in Royal Oak or one of Gilda’s offsite locations with hospital partners around metro Detroit. Today, Gilda’s have more than 10,000 members.
The St Clair Shores Cultural Committee is a group of volunteers sanctioned by the city to promote and support access to the arts in their many forms for our residents and others. Our partnership with the Detroit Institute of Arts has been particularly rewarding as they provide bus transportation to the museum and many of the speakers that make up our bi-monthly lectures at the SCS Library. Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan provides wigs & support services to Michigan children ages 3 through 18 experiencing hair loss as a result of illness & treatment at no charge. Founded in 2003, we are celebrating our 15th Anniversary and have provided over 4,000 wigs and support services to the children of Michigan. We are grateful to partner with the Shorewood Kiwanis as one of its charities of choice for the annual Harper Cruise here in our hometown. If you ever know of a child in need, please call 586-772-6656 as we charge nothing, help everyone and turn no one away.
The Lakeshore Family YMCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
